GERONNEN RETRO 20 — Glass and Steel Object

Twenty drops of glass in a steel frame. The plate that shapes the glass in the kiln stays with it.

A large sheet of float glass sits on a waterjet-cut stainless steel frame with twenty openings. Fired overnight at around 800 °C, the glass loses its rigidity and sinks through all of them, cooling into twenty hanging drops. A quilted surface above, a row of glass drops below. Frame and glass leave the kiln together and stay that way. Nothing is cut afterwards, nothing corrected.

The pull can be steered, never fixed. No two pieces come out the same, so every one is photographed and numbered individually.

Made to order. Every piece is numbered, one of a kind, and comes with a signed certificate and box.
