GERONNEN 1 — Glass Vase

One opening, one stem. The whole sheet folds around a single flower.

The piece starts as a precise cut on flat float glass. Fired overnight at around 800 °C, the sheet loses its rigidity and sinks through under its own weight. What runs down cools into the foot, which holds the water. What stays open above holds the stem. Nothing is cut afterwards, nothing corrected.

The pull can be steered, never fixed. No two pieces come out the same, so every one is photographed and numbered individually.

Made to order. Every piece is numbered, one of a kind, and comes with a signed certificate and box.

Float glass, kiln-formed at Kunstbau Weißensee, Berlin. Approx. 38 cm high, approx. 8 kg. Ships within 2 weeks.
