GERONNEN 3 — Glass Vase

Three ellipses, rotated and fused. Three openings for flowers that seem to hang in mid-air.

The piece starts as a precise cut on flat float glass. Fired overnight at around 800 °C, the sheet loses its rigidity and sinks through under its own weight. What runs down cools into the legs, which hold the water. What stays open above holds the stems. Nothing is cut afterwards, nothing corrected.

The pull can be steered, never fixed. No two pieces come out the same, so every one is photographed and numbered individually.

Made to order. Every piece is numbered, one of a kind, and comes with a signed certificate and box.

Float glass, kiln-formed at Kunstbau Weißensee, Berlin. Approx. 40 × 20 × 30 cm, approx. 3 kg. Ships within 2 weeks.

Why shipping costs more than a normal parcel. Glass this fine only arrives intact if it travels like artwork. Every piece is wrapped by hand in shock-absorbing layers, fixed in a custom-built box and sent fully insured with DHL. It should reach you exactly as it left the studio.
